FCA Updates

An industry-wide action resulted in the FCA requesting our insurers to enter into an undertaking that requires a pause of all sales and marketing activity of GAP Insurance to Customers based in the United Kingdom (“Customers”) with effect from 7 February. This unfortunately means that, for a period of time, no further GAP Insurance policies are to be marketed or sold to Customers from this date onwards until further notice and we are unable to fulfil any previously discussed quotation on this product.

On the 11th January 2024, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) announced a pause on complaints relating to discretionary commission arrangements across the motor finance industry.

Any complaints of this nature now fall outside the typical 8-week resolution rule and will be paused until 25thSeptember 2024 to allow the FCA time to review.

You can usually refer a complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service within 6 months of receiving a final response. For these matters, this has been extended to 15 months if you receive final response between 12th July 2023 and 20thNovember 2024

My wife and I have recently purchased a car through your Barrow branch, from which we are more than satisfied with, but I thought I would put a few words together to thank the salesman that dealt with our purchase. Paul Knott was our salesman and we thought that the service he provided us with was second to none. Paul was always available to answer any questions of ours and had all the answers we were looking for. I decided which car I wanted and Andy made the purchase process very easy and painless. I have even been back a couple of times for help (usually when i have pushed buttons and do not know what I have done!) and after laughing Andy has undone whatever I did and sent me happily on my way. In the past I have been to other showrooms.. once! DSG? I will definitely make DSG my first stop when I eventually want to buy another car. Thank you and ... I love my car!
